Voles-

Voles, also called meadow mice or field mice. Voles are compact rodents with stocky bodies, short legs, and short tails. They usually are brown or gray, though many color variations exist.

Voles may cause extensive damage to orchards, ornamentals, and tree plantings due to their girdling of trees. Field crops can be damaged or completely destroyed.

Voles interfere with crop irrigation by displacing water and causing levees to wash out. Voles also can ruin lawns, golf courses, and ground covers.

Fumigants usually are not effective because of the complexity and shallowness of vole tunnels that allow fumigants to escape. Poisons are the most effective method to control voles.

Cheetah Guide for Eradicating Moles and Voles

The Cheetah machine kills moles by capturing carbon monoxide produced by a self-contained 2-cycle gas engine, blowing the CO into tunnels asphyxiating the animal.

Moles-

The mole is a small, insect-eating animal that prefer moist areas where the soil is rich in humus. Moles live almost entirely underground in a vast network of interconnecting tunnels.

They eat some roots and bulbs, but mostly eat worms and insects. The greatest problem caused by moles is their burrowing that creates unsightly mounds and ridges.

Moles create shallow tunnels just below the surface for feeding. These tunnels collapse behind the mole as he builds them. Fumigants are not effective on these caved in tunnels.

Fumigants are effective on moles if the operator knows how to find the tunnels that go deep underground which lead to where the mole lives.
